modern nanchang is a pleasant and prosperous city with a growing industry, places for recreation, and many historical sites connected with the nanchang uprising. historical sites include the plum fairy temple, which dates bark to the western han dynasty, and the hundred flower islet, which is in the bayi park and dates back to the song dynasty.

the city stands on the west bank of the taiwan straight. it is a beautiful place for people to live in. its economy has been developing rapidly in the past ten years. new factories, houses, roads and bridges have been built. more schools and hospitals are available for its people. however, there are still some problems, such as water, air and noise pollution and heavy traffic in rush hours. in my opinion, quanzhou should develop its economy scientifically. i would also think that the growth of its housing construction should be brought under control so that we’ll have a better hometown in future.

我們一起在學校裏相處了四個春秋，併成為了十分要好的朋友。今年春節，我想邀請你來我的家鄉泰安來做客。我敢給你保證你一定不會後悔的，因為我的家鄉不僅風景秀麗，而且物產豐富。

我的家鄉風景如畫，其中最有名的風景區就要數泰山了。泰山是五嶽之首，它歷史悠久，風景優雅，碑刻眾多而引人入勝，且泰山不只一座，大大小小的山峯連綿起伏，有的高，有的低，有的寬，有的窄，不計其數。山峯上是各種奇形怪狀的石頭，有的石頭縫裏還長出了幾棵小樹，遠遠望去，滿山翠。泰山上最高的山峯有1524米，最低的有600多米，寬的延綿上百公里，窄的也有幾十公里。山頂上雲霧籠罩，看上去若隱若現。山上的名貴的藥材非常多：有靈芝，有黃連，人蔘等。山上有古建築20多處，歷史文化遺蹟200多處呢!

泰安不僅風景美麗，美食也是非常多。首先就是吃泰山三美，泰山三美是哪些呢?嘿嘿，就是白菜、豆腐、水。白菜可不是一般的白菜，是泰山上的黃芽白菜，不但口感好，味道鮮美，還可以通便，清骨，除煩解酒呢。泰山的豆腐特別細，水也特別多，最主要是特別嫩，而且雪白雪白的，味道有些甜，彈性十足，怎麼煮都不會老，也不會糊，還有一股特別的香土味，絕對是一大特色。泰山的山泉水是高氧的，潔淨安全，用它來煮白菜豆腐，被當地人稱為泰山三美湯，如果來泰山不吃泰山三美湯，絕對不算是來過泰山的。另外泰山美食可不止這些，還有泰山煎餅、豆腐丸子、 羊肉燉豆腐等美味小吃，味道都相當不錯。

on one side of the brook， are farmlands stretching as far as the eyes can see with farmers busy in the fields. the sunshines brightly through the pure， fresh air. after dark， i liked to roam around the fields along footpaths. the feeling was excellent.

on the other side of the brook， there are many trees. there are lots of green bamboo groves. the trees offer nice shade in the summer， and birds like singing in them. the bamboos sway gently in the fresh summer breeze. the brook runs calmly anti quietly through all this greenness， making a very nice picture.

this is my home village. it is far away in the country， but always with me，wherever i am.
